World renowned surf coach Andy King is based on the Gold Coast but works all over the globe.

Andy King is a name that’s synonymous with the progression of competitive surfing in Australia. Growing up in and around the sport all his life, he has the innate ability to read the ocean.

A born leader from a young age, Andy coached Mick Fanning to three world titles and helped him navigate the highs and lows throughout his illustrious career. Often denouncing the title of coach, Andy prefers the title of athletes solider and has taken the front line with names such as Michel Bourez, Julian Wilson, Adriano De Souza and now Gabriel Medina.

This shoulder to shoulder approach has been recognised across different sports, cultures and high performance settings. His central belief is that the best performances don’t come from comfort, and that trust is the catalyst for taking an athlete beyond this space. Andy has delivered key notes for corporates, participated in many high performance sports panels and shared his wisdom and passion for culture on several podcasts.

Even after a long list of coaching accolades, Andy’s passion for mentoring and getting the best out of every surfer he coaches, has never faded. His passion, energy and focus on mindset all come from giving back to the sport that has given him so much.
